During the tour:

• We will learn about local ancient Greek legends;
• We will visit the Monastery of the Holy Virgin Mary, which houses a museum of icons;
• We will drive along the spectacular road that was filmed in a James Bond movie;
• From Anglokastro Castle, we will take a look at the surroundings and even see the island’s capital;
• We will swim in the most beautiful place on the island.

We will start our journey from one of the most beautiful places on the island of Corfu – Paleokastritsa , where the God of Time, Chronos, struck by lightning and created a heart-shaped beach. We will swim in the turquoise sea.

Paleokastritsa is not only attractive for its impressive beaches with coves, but also for the 17th-century Monastery of the Holy Virgin Mary , which houses a noteworthy icon museum, and the monks are happy to welcome travelers.

Later, we will climb to the village of Lakones , where we will take a closer look at the aforementioned heart-shaped beach from the mountain. The observation deck where we will stand is called “Bella Vista”. This is not just a “beautiful view”, but one of the 10 most beautiful in Europe. The winding road along which we will drive to the village of Lakones “starred” in the James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only”.

Then we are waiting for the Angelokastro Castle . Although this castle was built during the Byzantine Empire, during the Venetian rule it became the official capital of the island and helped defend against Ottoman attacks on several occasions. It is one of the three most important castles that guaranteed the protection of the island. It stands on a high mountain, and those who dare to climb it are greeted by a breathtaking view – even the capital of the island is visible.

While traveling along winding mountain roads, we will stop at another village – Makrades, which is famous for its local wine, fruit, and honey, which we will be able to purchase.
