Words cannot describe it, you have to see it with your own eyes. This is a true creation of nature and man – monasteries on the tops of huge mountains.

Have no doubt – memories of Meteora will last a lifetime, and you may return here more than once.

This place is protected by UNESCO. There are now 6 monasteries operating, we will visit 2 of them.

Our route . Pick up from your vacation spot. Early in the morning, we will travel by comfortable transport to the international seaport, take the ferry to the mainland of Greece. On the ferry, we will have time to chat over a cup of coffee, as well as admire the views.  

We will then travel by comfortable transport through mainland Greece, through the regions of Epirus and Thessaly. The guide will tell you about the historical features of Greek periods and the Greek way of life.

Before visiting the monasteries, we will stop at an icon shop to get acquainted with the icon painting technique. Then we will ascend to a couple of monasteries, the guide will tell the wonderful stories of the monasteries. We will descend to the town of Kalambaka for lunch at a traditional local tavern.

After lunch and impressions, we will return to the city of Igoumenitsa, take the ferry and return to the hotel.

Important: You cannot enter monasteries wearing shorts, women must wear trousers, shoulders must be covered. Men must wear long trousers.

A very long excursion, but definitely worth it.
